Over three hundred students of classes Prep, six, seven and eight of Delhi Public School, Siliguri, presented ARPAN - III, the third in the series of cultural evenings dedicated to their parents on 5th December 2004. The colourful evening began with a Welcome Dance in the Semi- Classical mould followed by a Medley of English, Hindi and Bengali songs and dances by the tinytots of Prep classes. Over a thousand parents and guests were enthralled by the students performing 'Manjira', a Gujarati folk dance, a trilingual medley of songs entitled "Peace" and the rendition of the immortal numbers of Eagles and Kishore Kumar. The twin highlights of the evening were a medley of tree Western Dances by the senior boys and girls and a bilingual skit entitled 'From Chacha Nehru to Chacha APJ Abdul Kalam', wherein President Abdul Kalam, a lover of children like Nehru, isseen exhorting the society to nurture today's youngsters properly in order to ensure a bright future for India.

British Council, Kolkata organised a two day workshop on the 26th and 27th November entitled CYLET (Cambridge young Learners English Training) at Delhi Public School, Siliguri. Eight faculty members of the Department of English of the school attended the workshop, which was conducted by Ms. Banani Ghatak, British Council ELT (English Language Teaching) Resource Person. "The main aim of the Workshop was to equip the teachers with the wherewithal of English Language skill Development so that they can train students to appear in a three tier series of Cambridge University British Council English Language Tests.
